Harris were held Sunday afternoon from the Christian church with Rev. James McMorrow in charge. A large number of relatives and friends both from here and out of town were present. Among those from out-of-town were her sons, Hollie Houdesheldt of Tama and Paul of Des Moines, Mr. Harris' son John of Des Moines, was also here Saturday and Sunday. Centerville Daily Iowegian And Citizen, Centerville, Iowa, April 2, 1940 page 4 Jennie Bell Harris Jennie Bell Hamm, daughter of Francis and Frances Hamm, was born near Cincinnati. Ia., March 21, 1869, and departed this life at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville, Iowa, March 28, 1940, at the age of 70 years, four months and seven days. She was united in marriage to W. U. Houdesheldt, May 22, 1890. To this union three sons were born, Glen, Paul and Hollie. Mr. Houdesheldt passed away March 5, 1907. On March 5, 1922, she was again united in marriage to Harve Harris, who survives. She confessed her Savior and was baptized in His name, being a member of the Church of Christ of Cincinnati. She took a good interest in church work and it was only on Friday night before she became bedfast on Saturday, that she came to church for her last time to talk with Christ and fellow Christians. During her illness she said she wanted to go home to heaven. She was a daughter of a family of nine children, of whom four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Those remaining to mourn her departure are her husband, Harve Harris, and three sons, Glen Houdesheldt, of Cincinnati, Iowa; Paul Houdesheldt, of Des Moines, Iowa; and Holly (Hollie) Houdesheldt of Tama, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lucille and Jorene Houdesheldt of Cincinnati, Helen and Robert Houdesheldt of Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, Dade Hamm of Numa, Iowa, and George Hamm of Cincinnati, Ia., who is not able to be present, and a host of friends who will miss her. Everything kind friends, neighbors and relatives could do was done, but the Savior called and she answered, as we all must do. We are consoled by the thought of that greater blessing in the new home that awaits. The funeral was held at the Christian church in Cincinnati, on Sunday afternoon at 2:30, March 31, Rev.
