Her father- Hans Peter Schierholz died the same year, March 19, 1926. Her sister- Anna Marie (Schierholz) Knuth died the same year, November 2, 1926. They are buried in this cemetery. She never married and lived with her parents her whole life. ~~~~~~~~~ Emma Schierholz was killed and Alfred J. Lorenzen was seriously injured when the automobile they were riding was struck by the C.& N.W. No. 3. The driver failed to notice the train from behind them and turned onto the tracks two miles west of Beaver . Lorenzen was returning with his aunt to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lorenzen who live north west of Beaver. He had called on his aunt to have Christmas Eve dinner with their family. The car was struck by the engine and carried a fifth of a mile down the track. When they hit Mr. Lorenzen was thrown out of the top pf the car and thrown along the tracks. He suffered a bad scalp wound and other injuries. People in another car saw him fly from the car. The body of Miss Schierholz was found in the wreckage of the car. Several of her bones were broken. Emma Schierholz daughter of Hans and Weibke Schierholz was born on a farm near Ogden, August 29, 1884 and died on December 25, 1926. She was 42 years, 3 months and 26 days. For a number of years she lived in Ogden taking care of her father until a few months ago when he passed away. She leaves one sister and one brother : Mrs. Jacob Lorenzen of Grand Junction, Iowa Mr. Fred Schierholz of Stratford, Iowa. She attended the Christmas service at the M.E. Church and planned to attend the later service at the church that night after dinner. Funeral services were conducted from the M.E. Church in this city on Monday. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Miss Emma Schierholz father Hans Schierholz died on March 19, 1926 the same year. After his Probate she was awarded $10,572.17 She never got to see any of the money because of her death. Her share of her money went into Probate and her money was shared with her one sister still living, Katherine Lorenzen and brother Frederick Schierholz.
