Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Shepard Officiating and the McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Shepard Officiating and the McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A short prayer service was held at the home, prior to the Church services. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernest Thayer, Percy Thayer, Anton Sorensen, Charlie Tate, William Lantz and Robert Blacklock. Honorary pallbearers were J. C. Wilson, Chas Smith, Archie Nelson, John Noonan, Jacob Hansen and Henry Henningsen. Mrs. J. C. Wilson sang the hymns "The Old Rugged Cross," and "God Will Take Care of You." Mrs. Agnes Thayer was the pianist. Emma Studley was born April 25, 1888 at Belleview, Kansas, the daughter of George and Sarah Studley, and passed away October 9, 1954 at the age of 66 years, five months and fifteen days. She had been in poor health for the past two years and was stricken suddenly with a heart attack and passed away in her sleep. In 1894, she came to Nebraska from Kansas with her parents and was baptized in the Methodist faith. On June 16, 1909 she was united in marriage to H. Q. Caudill. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive. Most of her life was spent in this community. She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Whalen, Greeley, and Mrs. Ruth Nelson, Olympia, Washington; four sons, Everett of Wolbach, Edward and Donald of Grand Island, and Raymond of Portland, Oregon; 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and six brothers, Ben, Ora, Eddie, George and Charles, all of Wolbach and Harry of Buhl, Idaho. Her husband, Quillar; her parents; three sisters; three brothers and one grandchild preceded her in death. Relatives attending from a distance were Mrs. Ruth Nelson and Betty Lou of Olympia, Washington; Mr. Raymond Caudill of Portland, Oregon; Jim Nelson, Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Studley and Donnie and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Berney, all of Buhl, Idaho; Mrs. Emily Studley and Velda and Mrs. Fred Dittman, all of Oconto, Nebraska.
