Description	:	Mrs Emma V Wantz, Pioneer Resident Dies Mrs Emma V Wantz, pioneer Marshall county resident, succumbed at her farm home north of State Center last Friday following a three months illness. Funeral services were held at the Christian - Congregational church at Clemons at 2:00 pm last Tuesday. Interment was in the Clemons cemetery. Pall bearers were W A Armbrecht, William Von Spreckelson, Glenn Bartholomew, Burr Atkinson, S K Ely and Arnold Kaiser. Flower bearers were Elsie Armbrecht, Lena Armbrecht, Bessie Von Spreckelson, Lila Atkinson, Ione King and Henrietta Kaiser. Emma V Frye, daughter of James A and Elizabeth Frye, was born Aug 29, 1870 near Nevada. She grew to womanhood in the Hickory Grove community and was married to Robert E Wantz Feb 25, 1889. Four children were born to this union, three of whom survive. They are Mrs D V Bryant and Mrs Carl E Rogers of Clemons and Carmie Wantz of Portland, Ore. A daughter Grace died in 1909. In addition she is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs John Harrand of melbourne, a granddaughter, Mrs E S Ness and three great grandchildren, and a half sister, Mrs A E Lougn of Nevada. She spent her entire life in Story and Marshall counties with the exception of two years spent in O'Brien county. Mrs and Mrs Wantz observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1939.
