Mrs. Kays suffered a paralytic stroke about two years ago and had been in failing health since that time. Services at the church were conducted by Rev. H. E. Senecal and the pallbearers who carried the remains to their resting place In Corinthian cemetery to be Interred beside those of her husband were John Schafer, Alex Henderson, James Ward, Ed Porter, R. L. Mountain and Duncan Sillers. Emma Webster was born in Darfield, England December 4, 1879, and when five years of age came with her parents to Brussels, Ontario, where she grew to womanhood. Coming to North Dakota in 1902 she was married to John Kays, who preceded her in death thirteen years ago. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kays, three passing away in infancy. Those left to mourn the loss of their mother are Edwin, George, Charles and Mrs. George Mortimer, all of Sarles, and Mrs. William Robson of Lakota. The deceased is also survived by one brother, Edwin Webster, who resides at Rock Lake. Mrs. Webster (Kays) passed away on the homestead where she started her married life and where for many years she had enjoyed the companionship of a large group of neighbors who prized her friendship most highly. She was a member of the Methodist church.
