Description	:	Emmett F. Burrier, who has been employed as assistant engineer in the new shops of the Omaha railway, died this morning at the Samaritan hospital, after a lingering illness of typhoid fever. Mr. Burrier was a graduate of the Iowa State University, completing his course in civil engineering this year, and was just entering upon the practice application of his education in a manner which bid fair to give him a bright future. Mr. Burrier was a graduate of the Iowa State University, completing his course in civil engineering this year, and was just entering upon the practice application of his education in a manner which bid fair to give him a bright future. That he should be cut off from its realization at this time is lamentable and his friends in Sioux City and elsewhere will be pained to learn of his demise. Dwight C. Morgon, the engineer in charge of the new Omaha shops, in speaking of Mr. Burrier, said that he has had occasion to employ a good many young men just out of college who were seeking attainments in their chosen profession and that in no instance has he been associated with a young man who displayed more interest and determination in his work than that evidenced by Mr. Burrier. His deportment and habits were exemplary in every way and worthy of the respect and good will of his associates and friends. Iowa has lost one of his stalwart sons whose career, if it had been permitted to continue, would have reflected credit upon the state. The remains, in charge of his brother George, were brought to Farmington last Wednesday and was interred in the Mulvihill Cemetery, Thursday. The deceased leaves a mother, three sisters, two brothers and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Published in the Sioux City Daily Tribune, September 23, 1902.
