Description	:	Bert J. Vermeer, 43 Mr. Bert J. Vermeer passed away early Friday evening at the age of 42 years, 2 months, and 25 days. Mr. Vermeer had been suffering from an incurable disease which was discovered about five years ago. At that time he went to Rochester and it was there that his condition was reported serious. Mr. Vermeer was united in marriage on February 3, 1932 to Angelyn Vander Schaaf and to this union were born two children, James W. Vermeer and one child, Roger Berdel who died in infancy. Mr. Vermeer is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Harriet, Mrs. J. R. Vander Schaaf of Orange City; Ed J.; Wilbur; Johanna, Mrs. Harvey Vermeer; Arnold and Marvin, all of Sioux Center. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake E. Vermeer. Mr. Vermeer had farmed all his married life near Sioux Center and was an active member in the First Reformed Church as well as the Mens Fellowship. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21 at 1:00 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home and 1:30 at the First Reformed church with Rev. Peter A. De Jong officiating. Burial was in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home. The pall bearers were Henry Kosters, Maurice A.
