Description	:	Grandma Rens Dies The sad news was passed around last Friday morning that Mrs. R. Rens, nee Van Sloten, had passed away at her home in Hull during the night. She had been ill only a few days and the shock is surely a severe blow to the bereaved family. Mrs. Engeltje Rens was born in the Nunspeet, Prov. of Gelderland, in the year 1845. She was married to R. Rens in the old country at the age of of 36 years and came to this country with him forty-three years ago. She was the mother of five children, one of whom died... Read More	Grandma Rens Dies The sad news was passed around last Friday morning that Mrs. R. Rens, nee Van Sloten, had passed away at her home in Hull during the night. She had been ill only a few days and the shock is surely a severe blow to the bereaved family. Mrs. Engeltje Rens was born in the Nunspeet, Prov. of Gelderland, in the year 1845. She was married to R. Rens in the old country at the age of of 36 years and came to this country with him forty-three years ago. She was the mother of five children, one of whom died in infancy and is buried in the old country. She was past eighty-two years of age, a fine neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Besides the sorrowing husband, she is survived by three sons and one daughter: Tim, John and Lambert, and Mrs. John Meyers; thirteen grandchildren; one brother, Mr. Wm. VanSloten, of this place; and two sisters still in the old country. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home and at the Christian Reformed church of which she had been a faithful member for many years, Rev. C. Huissen officiating, the remains being laid to rest in Hope Cemetery.
