Description	:	ARVIDSON, Erick (Age 96) passed away at Manor Care of Spokane on June 9, 2005. He was born on April 13, 1909, in South Dakota. He was the first of 11 children, five girls and six boys, of Andrew and Anna Arvidson. The family farmed in the Dakota area, and then in 1935 they moved to Washington State. He was born on April 13, 1909, in South Dakota. He was the first of 11 children, five girls and six boys, of Andrew and Anna Arvidson. The family farmed in the Dakota area, and then in 1935 they moved to Washington State. They settled in the Puget Sound area and continued to farm. Erick left the farm and worked for many years at the Kenworth Trucking Company in Seattle. After retiring, he and his wife moved to the Spokane area. Erick was a master at many things. He went to many vocational schools and made jewelry and built cameras and a lot of his own tools that he used at home. He was an expert at lapidary and made beautiful pieces of jewelry from the raw rocks that he collected around the country. Erick was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, D. Miriam. Most of Erick's brothers and sisters are gone now, except for a sister Gladys Burmeister (93) in South Dakota and a brother Bill Arvidson (74) in Arizona. He has many nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. He was a long-time friend of Mr. and Mrs. Paul George of Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Schmidt of Spokane, and May Anderson and family of Spokane. Erick and his wife had attended Fourth Memorial Church of Spokane for many years. A graveside service was held June 14, 2005, at Fairmount Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Ed Underhill.
