NELSON DIED IN BALTIMORE Former Asbury Resident Passed Away There On Tuesday FUNERAL SERVICES AT 3:30 FRIDAY AFTERNOON Mr. Ernest B. Nelson, a former resident of the Asbury section, but who had been living in Baltimore for a number of years, died at his home in that city Tuesday, of heart trouble. He was about 68 years of age. Mr. Nelson was a member of a Somerset county family which was among the first white settlers to locate in this community. His parents were the late Alexander and Isabelle Nelson. In his younger days he was for years a rural delivery mail carrier, covering his route with horse and buggy, before the days of the automobile, and was the first rural mail carrier on the route he served. Later he engaged in the seafood business and the canning business, and was associated at one time with Tawes & Gibson, in the canning of turtle and other seafood products, in the Jersey section of Crisfield. About 25 years ago, he moved to Baltimore, there to engage in the wholesale and retail seafood business, and his endeavors there were very successful, as he built up a large trade in that city. Some months ago be had a slight paralytic stroke, with a second one about a week before his death. Mr. Nelson was a man of affable manner, engaging personality, and was highly respected and regarded, not only in the community where he was born and raised, but in the city where he made his home for the last quarter of a century. His body will be brought here this morning, Friday, and funeral services, will be held this afternoon, Friday, at 3:30 o'clock, with the pastor of Asbury Methodist Church, Rev. J. T. Rowlenson, officiating. Interment will be in Asbury cemetery. The pall-bearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Asbury Church.
