Description	:	E. Bachman Lindler, 64, former member of the House of Representatives from Lexington county, died at his home at Chapin at 1:35 Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. Mr. Lindler was born in Lexington county June 5, 1888, the son of the late Martin Luther Lindler and Mary Ella Wessinger Lindler. Mr. Lindler attended the pubic schools of his county and Clemson College. After leaving college he engaged in carpenter contracting until ten years ago when he became associated with South Carolina Electric and Gas company, where he was employed at the time of his death. Bachman Lindler, 64, former member of the House of Representatives from Lexington county, died at his home at Chapin at 1:35 Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness. Mr. Lindler was born in Lexington county June 5, 1888, the son of the late Martin Luther Lindler and Mary Ella Wessinger Lindler. Mr. Lindler attended the pubic schools of his county and Clemson College. After leaving college he engaged in carpenter contracting until ten years ago when he became associated with South Carolina Electric and Gas company, where he was employed at the time of his death. Mr. Lindler, a member of St. Thomas Lutheran church, was active in all the affairs of his church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Mae Derrick Lindler of Chapin; three daughters, Mrs. N. D. Free of Wilmington, N.C., Mrs. Mary Ella Loftin of Chapin and Mrs. William J. Cummalander of Little Mountain; four sons, T. Blair Lindler, Edward Brinton Lindler, Lewis Harrel Lindler, all of Chapin, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from St. Thomas Lutheran church at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. John Zeigler, assisted by the Rev. Darrel Haltiwanger. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Clarence Derrick, Carl Wessinger, Leland Shealy, Coley Lowman Jr., Herman Lindler and W. E. Lindler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Tillman Jackson, R. Milo Smith, Joe Turkett, Bill Boyd, Dr. J. S. Liverman, Dr. Claude Lindler, Lonnie Fulmer, W. W. Goza, J. J. Chapman, Ben Frick, Jim Bouknight, Addison Bostick, and members of St. Thomas Lutheran church council. The active pallbearers have been requested to meet at the residence at 2:15. The honorary were requested to meet at the church at 2:50 p.m. The body will be at the Sale Funeral home until 10 o'clock Monday morning at which time it will be carried to the residence to await the hour of the funeral. © The State, Columbia, SC, 25 May 1952
