Description	:	The Nebraska Signal, July 3, 1969: Ernest Charles Hillgren, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hillgren, was born at Ohiowa, Neb., September 2, 1932. He passed away at the University Hospital at Minneapolis, Minn., June 25, 1969, at the age of 36 years, 9 months and 23 days. He grew up on the farm near Ohiowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Bruning. He entered the Army in 1951, and received his discharge in November, 1953. He passed away at the University Hospital at Minneapolis, Minn., June 25, 1969, at the age of 36 years, 9 months and 23 days. He grew up on the farm near Ohiowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Bruning. He entered the Army in 1951, and received his discharge in November, 1953. He was presently working for Ray Foreman at Crete with the Foreman Transfer Co., and made his home at Crete. He leaves to mourn his passing four children; two sons and two daughters, Rodney Lee Hillgren, Ricky Ray Hillgren, Janette Kae Hillgren, Pamela Sue Hillgren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hillgren; one brother, Don; and one sister, Lorene (Mrs. Louis) South; also nephews, nieces relatives and many friends. His death occurred when a transport in which he was riding overturned at North Mankato, Minn., and Ernest sustained fatal injuries. Funeral services were conducted from the Kritner-Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, Rev. Woodrow Wilson officiated. Mrs. Alvin Rizer sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Willard Foster was accompanist. Pallbearers were Ronald Dovikey, Vern Justa, Joseph Kaderbek, Eugene Saatman, Martin Saatman, and Eugene Wit. Interment was in the Ohiowa Cemetery, where military honors were given at the grave by the Ohiowa Legion post.
