Description	:	PLAINVIEW - Services for Ernest Christiansen, 67, of Creighton will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church here with burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday at the church. Ashburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He died Monday, March 30, 2009, at his home. Ernest Jakob Christiansen (Morgensen) was born at Lindy to Jakob Fred and Mae Bertha (Brokaw) Christiansen. He attended Prairie Dale School District 33 kindergarten through eighth grade. He home-schooled for his high school education in order to help his father farm northeast of Creighton. On March 2, 1968, Ernest and Sharon Joy Spangler were united in marriage at the Methodist Church in Ewing, and together they had one daughter born Dec. 12, 1968. Ernest worked at Largens Manufacturing for 18 years and was a farmer/rancher all of his life. Due to a back injury he retired from Largens Manufacturing. He continued to reside at his farm after retirement. Ernest was very skilled mechanically and he had a passion for classic cars. He was very creative and driven as shown by the many projects he pursued. His love for children inspired him to create Santaland. Santaland, which was located on Ernest's farm northeast of Creighton, was displayed every Christmas for 10 plus years. He was very involved in his grandchildrens', nieces and nephews' lives. He was very proud of his Danish ancestry. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon and Norman; two brothers-in-law, Ralph and Marlin; two sisters-in-law, Lois and Bernice. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, TyLynne and Mike Bauer of Norfolk; six grandchildren; Tonya; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; three sisters and two brothers and their spouses, Dorothy and George Babcock, Fern and Bill Goodman, Donald and Marcilene Christiansen, Esther Behrens, and Leland and Karen Christiansen; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law and their spouses, Luretta, Thelma, Gwen, Laura and Jerald.
