Wyatt occurred at the family residence on Sunday morning, September 10, afer a years illness. All the family were present at the time of his death. Mr. Wyatt was born in Sutton, Quebec, on January 20, 1867, where he lived with the exception of a few years spent in Colorado until 1913 when, with his family, he came to the Rainy Creek district, settling on the farm which is still the family home. He was married to Miss Helen Johnson on June 24, 1896, and to this union were born five children Douglas, Gordon and Mrs. Frank Nelson, all residing in this district; and Francis still at home. A son, Howard, died at the age of two years in 1912. Mr. Wyatt was a man of sterling character, well liked and respected by all who knew him. He held several public positions in Quebec, as well as serving as councillor, school trustee, etc., during his residence here. He was a regular attendant as well as a staunch supporter of the United Church here, and served on the church board almost continuously. The funeral was held from the home to the Bentley cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, when a large number gathered to pay their last respects to their friend and neighbor. The pallbearers were Messrs. Alfred Haarstad, George Stephenson, Percy Thorpe, C. F. Damron, Fred Nelson and J. G. Evernden. Rev. Mr. McLennan was the officiating clergyman. There were a great many floral tributes from friends and neighbors whose sympathy is extended to the family in their sad loss.
