He was born in Camden, N.J. and had been in the restaurant business for many years. Mr. Seekins was a Past Noble Grand of Hartland lodge, I.O.O.F., and a member of the Encampment. He is survived by his wife, who was Carrie Akerley of Van Buren, whom he married in 1920 [sic]; by four daughters, Mrs. Nina Webber, Mrs. Mabel Nichols and Miss Mary Seekins, all of Hartland, and Mrs. Merrow; two brothers, John Seekins of Hartland and Walter E. Seekins of Fairfield; four sisters, Mrs. Nancy Leadbetter, Mrs. Elta Annis and Mrs. Mary Merrow of Hartland and Mrs. Ella Getchell of Dexter. Funeral Services will be at the Seekins residence here Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Milo G. Folsom of Pittsfield. The bearers will be Harold Guptill of Dexter, Willis Nichols, Carroll Webber and Linwood Burbank of Hartland. (Bangor Daily News, Tuesday 5 October 1937, p17)
