He was born in Hartland November 27, 1894, the son of Walter and Alice (Waldron) Seekins and had resided in Hartland all his life until he went to Rockwood to make his home. He was a member of Hartland Grange. Surviving are his widow, Stella Salisbury Seekins; a son, John Seekins, Jr., of Hampden Highlands; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Dodge, Eastern Rochester, N.H., and Mrs. Rita Youngs of Orrington; a brother, Walter Seekins of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Ledbetter, Portland, Mrs. Abbie Merrill of Hartland, Mrs. Ella Getchell of Dexter; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The remains are at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel in Hartland where friends may call from 2 to 4 o'clock and 7 to 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel in Hartland. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland.
