Description	:	Ernest T. Greenfield, son of Cyrus and Sarah Nedrow Greenfield, was born December 23, 1876 and passed away January 22, 1958 at the age of 81 years and one month. Ernest grew up in this community and spent his entire life in the Douds area. He served the community as a rural mail carrier for two years and as postmaster for 20 years. They... Read More	Ernest T. Greenfield, son of Cyrus and Sarah Nedrow Greenfield, was born December 23, 1876 and passed away January 22, 1958 at the age of 81 years and one month. Ernest grew up in this community and spent his entire life in the Douds area. He served the community as a rural mail carrier for two years and as postmaster for 20 years. He is also well known as a local business man. On November 23, 1898, he was united in marriage to Alice Findlay who preceded him in death. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive. They are Earl Greenfield of Cleveland, Ohio, Cyrus Greenfield of Douds, Mrs. Mabel Bingaman and Helen Greenfield of Douds, and Mrs. Marjorie Snook of Fairfield. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Roy and Guy Greenfield, and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Riggs, all of Douds. Mr. Greenfield was a member of Christ Methodist Church, the Knights of Pythias and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was always active in community affairs, and will be greatly missed by his business associates and his many friends, as well as by his family. Funeral services were held Friday, January 24, 1958 at Christ Methodist Church in Douds, with the pastor, Rev. David Pease officiating. Mr. Greenfield's grandsons acted as pallbearers, and music was furnished by Mrs. Keith A. Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Ervin Ahlbrecht. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, with arrangements in charge of Pedricks.
