Description	:	Ernest William Frost Sr., a Napa native, died Saturday at Queen of the Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 89. He was born June 11, 1897, to William and Ida Miller Frost. He attended Napa schools through the six grade and later served briefly with the U.S. Army during World War I. He married the former Aline Viault in Fairfield in December of 1919 and she died in 1976. Read More	Ernest William Frost Sr., a Napa native, died Saturday at Queen of the Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 89. He was born June 11, 1897, to William and Ida Miller Frost. He attended Napa schools through the six grade and later served briefly with the U.S. Army during World War I. He married the former Aline Viault in Fairfield in December of 1919 and she died in 1976. As a young man he began driving horse and mule teams, hauling goods for various people throughout the Napa Valley and beyond. He was the first truck driver at Anderson's Sand and Gravel Company, which later became Basalt Rock Company. During World War II he was employed at Mare Island Naval Shipyard and after the war he resumed truck driving. He retired in 1963 and moved to Chiles Valley. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and as a young man enjoyed dancing. He was formerly an active member of the Improved Order of Red Men, Samoset Tribe, of Vallejo. Mr. Frost is survived by his daughter, Goldie Elia of St. Helena; his son, Ernest W. Jr. of Folsom; two sisters, Frieda Barker and Ella Davis, both of Napa; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Thursday at 11 a.m. at Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel, 623 Coombs St., with the Rev. William McCord, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Napa, officiating. Entombment will be private at Tulocay Garden Mausoleum.
