Description	:	My great uncle. Ervin Harry Leonard Naab was a son of Peter Justus Naab and Anna Katharina Naab, nee Maier. He was born March 22, 1911 in Effingham, Effingham County, Illinois, he was the ninth oldest of twelve children. On October 5, 1932 he was united in marriage with Beatrice Elizabeth Marie Ehlers and made their home in Ute, Iowa. Ervin worked as a farm laborer at Soldier and later farmed in the Dunlap, Mapleton and Ute communities. The couple farmed at Ute from 1950 until 1978 when they retired and moved into Ute. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents; a son Sherman Naab; a grandson Korey Naab and seven brothers. Those left to mourn the death of Ervin are: his wife, Beatrice; a son, Sheldon Naab of Ute; a daughter, Sharon Hopp of Alliance, NE; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Rachael Naab of Coconage Park, CA; a brother, Arthur of Charter Oak, IA; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bohakel of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Mrs. Kathryn Kastner of Marine, Illinois and Mrs. Hilda Jackson of Highland, Illinois; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Family and friends attended Ervin's funeral services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, held December 5, 1989 at 10:30 am, in Ute, officiated by Rev. Edgar Bode. Ervin H. Naab is buried at St. Clair Cemetery in Ute, Iowa.
