(Sweitzer) Wolf, to whom he was married more than 65 years. The couple would have observed 66 years of marriage on August 12, 2007. He was the loving husband of Doris L. (Sweitzer) Wolf, to whom he was married more than 65 years. The couple would have observed 66 years of marriage on August 12, 2007. The funeral service for Mr. Wolf will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, with his pastor, the Rev. Lisa Ann Hair, officiating. Viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery in York New Salem with full military honors performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born March 15, 1920, in Shrewsbury, Ervin was a son of the late Alfred and Bessie (Mann) Wolf. He was a loyal employee of the York Water Company for 38 years, where he worked as the pumping station superintendent prior to retiring in 1983. Seaman 2nd Class Wolf was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. He was a faithful member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in York New Salem. He enjoyed his retirement years, tending his garden or traveling to the Easy Riders Hunting Camp in Potter County. In addition to his wife, Doris, Ervin leaves four children, Joye D. Trone and her husband, David, Darryll L. "Bud" Wolf and his wife, Susan, and Gary L. Wolf and his wife, Bev, all of York New Salem, and Gayle L. Lambert and her husband, Larry of York Haven; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George H. Wolf of Stewartstown; and a sister, Edna Taylor of Shrewsbury Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Wolf to the American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
