She was married to Bert... Read More	The Minden Courier, Minden, NE. Wed. Aug. 28, 1968 Pg. 2 Estella Grace Brainard was born at Minden, Nebr., to Lewis S. and Sophia Brainard on June 23, 1893. Her death occurred unexpectedly at her home in Minden on Monday, Aug. 19, 1968. She had lived most of her life in the Minden community, attended the Minden Public Schools, and was a member of the Methodist Church. As a young woman, she was employed as a telephone operator by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, attaining the position of chief operator which she held for several years. She was married to Bert F. Darnell on Dec. 7, 1925, and to this union a son was born. Mrs. Darnell was preceded in death by her husband and infant son, her parents and three brothers. Surviving her are three stepsons who reside in California, Everett at San Anselmo, Virgil, Belmont, and Eugene Darnell, Santa Rosa, and three sisters, Mrs. John S. (Hazel) Westesen, Kearney, Mrs. J. Doyle (Martha) Hamilton, Minden, and Mrs. Lester C. (Geraldine) Forsberg, Madison, Wisc., other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday morning, Aug. 23, at the Layton Funeral Home with Rev. John Wineman officiating. Interment was in the Minden Cemetery. Card of Thanks We wish to express our gratitude to relatives and friends for their kindnesses, for the memorials, and for the flowers and sympathy shown us at the death of our loved one.
