Description	:	Esther A. Davis, 100, of Springdale, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at the Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Branch after a long illness. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Springdale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Paulus officiating. Burial will be at the Pee Dee Cemetery in rural West Branch. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Barker Funeral Home in West Branch. A memorial fund was established. Mrs. Davis was born in rural Muscatine County to Herman and Caroline (Schilling) Lorenzen. She attended Hebron Rural School and graduated from Springdale High School in 1920. She received training at the Nursing School of Mercy Hospital and graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic College in Davenport. She married Forest W. Davis on Nov. 15, 1933 in Springdale. They lived there until he died in 1980. She was active in the Springdale United Methodist Church, a member of the ABC Sunday School Class, Kil Kare Club, Self Culture Club, 500 club, American Legion Auxiliary and the Springdale United Methodist Women, formerly known as the Ladies Aide Society. Survivors include one son, Carl Davis and his wife, Jean, of Iowa City; two grandchildren, Jeff Davis and his wife, Cami, of Chandler, Ariz., and Jennifer Davis Clarahan and her husband, Bill, of Coralville; two great-grandchildren, Kylar and Keslyn Davis of Chandler; and many nieces and nephews.
