Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Esther Avonelle (Tjarks) Krause was born on Sunday; October 29, 1922 on the Hilko Tjarks farm west of Alden; Hardin County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: John and Jeanette (Watt) Tjarks of rural Alden, Iowa. Esther attended Salem Country School and graduated from the Alden High School in May of 1940. On September 24, 1940 she was united in marriage to William Herbert Krause, Jr. at the Lutheran Church Parsonage in Iowa Falls, IA. Esther and Bill farmed their entire life west of Alden. Esther was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Alden, serving on many church activity committees. She was an avid "left handed" seamstress, wonderful cook, good singer and a good listener to everyone close to her. Her home was always open to all her children and grand-children's needs. Esther was at Bill's side plowing the ground and any form of work to be done. Esther served on the zoning and adjustment board in Hardin County for many years. Esther Avonelle (Tjarks) Krause, age 87, passed away on Thursday; October 21, 2010, at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls with her family by her side. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her husband of 70 years: William "Bill" Krause. Her son: Dallas (Lorretta) Krause and her daughter: Maribeth (Vance) Swanberg, all of Iowa Falls, Iowa. Her grandchildren: Kent (Lori) Krause of Iowa Falls, Iowa; Kelly Vogel of West Des Moines, Iowa; Karlton (Joelle) Krause and Kurtis (Deanna) Krause, both of Iowa Falls, Iowa. Jane (Darrin) Eilertson of Edina, Minnesota; Jann (Jeff) Friest of Hubbard, Iowa; Jill (Sheldon) Clock of Springfield, Missouri. Her great-grandchildren: Parker Krause, Anthony, Ariadne, Alyssa, Alayna Vogel, Quinton, Kassidy, Jack Krause, Lane, Logan, Evan and Mattie Krause, Michael and Mason Herr, Jonathan, Joseph, Daniel Hansen, and Emma and Elle Eilertson. Also many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Elizabeth Izer, Mary Schager, brother, Leslie Tjarks, great grandchild, Hunter Krause and grandson-in-law: Rick Vogel. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday; October 24 2010 at the Alden United Methodist Church in Alden, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Monday; October 25, 2010 also at the Alden United Methodist Church in Alden, Iowa. Interment will be at the Alden Cemetery also in Alden, Iowa.
