Description	:	son of William and Edna (Clausen) Krause Sr. William Krause, age 93, of Alden, died on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Heritage Care Center of Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Alden United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 5-7 Thursday at the Alden United Methodist. William "Bill" Herbert Krause was born on January 24, 1922 in Greeley, Iowa to William and Edna (Clausen) Krause, Sr. He graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1939. On September 24, 1940, he was united in marriage to Esther Avonelle Tjarks at the Lutheran Church Parsonage in Iowa Falls. Bill and Esther farmed their entire life west of Alden. Bill was a member of the Alden United Methodist church for over 65 years where he served on many church boards and was lay leader for many years. He served on the Alden School Board, the Alden Boat Club, the County Farm Service Board, and the regional Farm Service Board as a director. He spoke at many FS meetings in North East Iowa. He spent a month in China with the Iowa Soybean Assoc. Some of his enjoyable activities were attending events of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was always positive and encouraged all to go to college. Bill and Esther were married 70 years before her death in 2010. They were a couple that worked together in the fields and raised many chickens and livestock, most of all they loved to work and go boating. He is survived by his son, Dallas (Lorretta) Krause of Iowa Falls, a daughter, Maribeth (Vance) Swanberg, of Iowa Falls, grandchildren, Kent (Lori) Krause of Iowa Falls, Kelly (Bob) Brooks of Arkansas, Karlton (Joelle) Krause, Kurtis (Deanna) Krause, both of Iowa Falls, Jane (Darrin) Eilertson of Edina, MN, Jann (Jeff) Friest of Hubbard, IA, Jill (Sheldon) Clock of Springfield, MO.; great-grandchildren, Parker Krause, Anthony Vogel, Ariadne (Jeff) Ebel, Alyssa (Will) Lewis, Alayna Vogel, Quinton, Kassidy, and Jack Krause, Lane, Logan, Evan and Mattie Krause, Michael and Mason Herr, Jonathan, Joseph, and Daniel Hansen, and Emmy and Elle Eilertson; one great-great-granddaughter, Madilyn Sarah Hansen; three sisters-in-law, Kay Krause of Seward, NE, Dixie Krause of Ames and Marjorie Krause of Iowa Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther; brothers, Robert, Walter, and John Krause; a sister, Norma Jean Hurst; one great-grandson, Hunter Krause; and a grandson-in-law, Rick Vogel.
