Description	:	Esther Allers, 84, Garrison, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at a Bismarck hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1st, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31st, 2013 from 2 – 7 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison, ND. Read More	Esther Allers, 84, Garrison, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at a Bismarck hospital. Esther was born June 5, 1928 on her family farm east of Garrison to Henry and Bertha (Blotter) Flath. She was the 4th of ten children. She was raised on the farm and educated in Garrison, graduating from Garrison High School. Following graduation she spent several years teaching in a rural school. Esther married Reinholt Fast on November 30, 1947 and they made their home in Garrison. While living in Garrison, Esther worked several different jobs. She worked for Ottertail, was bookkeeper at Great Plains Lumberyard, and also worked at Larry's Drive Inn. Reinholt died in 1972 and Esther remained in Garrison. On October 26, 1974, Esther married Richard "Louie" Allers. They continued to live in Garrison and Esther remained active as a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendant, president of the ladies aid and regularly attended bible study. She kept busy with a number of hobbies. She loved to knit, embroider, play cards, and read books. She was also a very accomplished quilter and was known for her "perfect, tiny stitches". Esther also loved to travel and spent many winters in Arizona. Her favorite destination was Hawaii, which she traveled to several times. Esther is survived by one son, Donald (Cindy) Fast, Minot, daughter, Connie (Ken) Geiger, Mandan; grandchildren, Justin (Bonnie) Fast and son, Kingston, Adriana (Michael) Harris and children, Cody and Joshua, Sarah Geiger (special friend) Craig Erickson, Chris Geiger, his son, Conner and fiancée Stacy Tschritter, Amy (Chris) Edwards, and children, Madesyn, Bostyn and Cashtyn; sister, Clara Mautz, Underwood; brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Sandra) Flath, Banning, CA, Gordon (Barbara) Flath, Puyallop, WA, Clarence (JoAnn) Flath, Schofield, WI; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Flath, Bowman, Betty Flath, Garrison, Sandy Flath, Corona, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reinholt Fast, husband, Richard "Louie" Allers, brothers, Arnold, Herbert, Willis, and Walter Flath, sister and brother-in-law, Helen (George) Spindel, and brother-in-law, Fred Mautz
