Description	:	Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs Esther J. Wasson, 71, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs G.L.A. Peterson, 12 miles southeast of Villisca. Services were held at 1:30 pm in the Peterson home and at 2:30 pm in the North Grove church, with the Rev A. Lewis Kongable of Nodaway in charge. Burial was made in the North Grove cemetery. The body remained at Sutphen's funeral home until the day of the funeral. Pallbearers were Jerome Mauderly, Ollie Murren, James Ridenour, W.D. Owen, Theodore Peterson and Evan Andrew. Mrs Evan Andrew, Mrs John Spring, Mrs Viola Branan, and Mrs Holly Dunn were flower bearers, and music was furnished by Ralph Orme, Leonard Calhoun, Mrs Ada Bentley, and Miss Mary Swisher, accompanied by Mrs Will Burk. Esther J. Wasson was born Dec 27, 1868, near Hepburn in Page county. She was one of the first school teachers in Page county, and on Nov 26, 1894, she was united in marriage to George W. Wasson who preceded her in death on Aug 9, 1931. To this union were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Arthur E. of Coin, Mrs Naoma F. Tigges of Melbourne, Mrs Irma L. Peterson, Paul E., and Floyd A. of the North Grove community. She also leaves six grandchildren, three brothers, and three sisters.
