For the past two years she had been in poor health, suffering from a malignancy and on several previous occasions had undergone temporizing treatments at the hospital. Mrs. Dollison, formerly Esther Lois Rogers, was born near Anthon, Ia., May 27, 1870, being a daughter of Benjamin F. and Catherine Rogers. Her parents died when she and her brother, John F. Rogers, were small, and the two were cared for by their grandparents. On December 14, 1888, she was united in marriage with James Dollison at Cherokee, Ia. In the spring of 1900 she and her husband came to Nebraska, residing for one year at Palisade and one year at Stromsburg. In 1902, they moved to Silver Creek, where she resided until 1919. Mr. Dollison passed away on March 26, 1917 and in February of the same year her brother passed away. In 1919, Mrs. Dollison came to Grand Island where she had since resided. For several years, she conducted a small grocery store in the residental section of the city, on West Third street. Evidently anticipating that the end was near, Mrs. Dollison had last week compiled her own obituary sketch and made the necessary arrangements for her burial, leaving the addresses of relatives to be notified of her demise. She was a member of the Congregational church, and was an active member of Andrew chapter No. 41, O.E.S. Surviving are four nephews, David J. Rogers, Vincent F. Rogers, Joseph Rogers and Lloyd G. Rogers, all of Danbury, Ia., and her step-mother, Mrs. Lois F. Perry, Sioux Falls, S. Dak. Arrangement for the funeral have not definitely been completed, but burial will take place at Silver Creek. ================================= Note: A follow-up article states that "Burial was beside her husband in the Silver Creek cemetery."
