Description	:	Esther was born May 19, 1923 at Bradley, South Dakota to Karl and Lena Karlson. Esther had 6 brothers and 5 sisters. In 1929 the family moved to Hoover, South Dakota and built a sod home. Karl and Lena worked very hard improving their homestead. Esther was a hard worker and worked out of the home at an early age. Her son, Dennis died of a tragic accident at the... Read More	Esther was born May 19, 1923 at Bradley, South Dakota to Karl and Lena Karlson. Esther had 6 brothers and 5 sisters. In 1929 the family moved to Hoover, South Dakota and built a sod home. Karl and Lena worked very hard improving their homestead. Esther was a hard worker and worked out of the home at an early age. Esther married Hank Gibson and they had 2 boys, Dennis and Harold. Hank died in 1949. Later Esther married Jack Blomberg and they had 2 boys, Alan and Chad. Her son, Dennis died of a tragic accident at the ranch that Esther and Jack owned. In the late 60's they sold the ranch and moved to Whitewood, SD. There Esther worked at the Local Café. Later Esther moved to Belle Fourche where she worked at the 5th Avenue Café. In the late 70's she met Ed Wierzbicki. Ed bought a farm/ranch on Horse Creek where he raised cattle and also done dirt work. Esther loved cattle and took care of the calving and other work around the farm. Esther loved collecting chickens and had a very large collection. She was known for her colorful language and usually said what she thought. Esther was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Esther, 93, died June 28, 2016 at the David M. Dorsett Health Care Center in Spearfish. She is survived by her 3 sons; brother; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hank Gibson and Jack Blomberg; son, Dennis Gibson; 5 brothers and 5 sisters and longtime friend and companion, Edwin Wierzbicki died in October 2015. Funeral services were held 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche with the Reverend Jeff Otterman officiating.
