Description	:	Esther Louise Marie Meyer, 90, Postville, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa, following a brief illness. She was born on February 16, 1920, on the family farm in Henderson Prairie Township in Fayette County four miles south of Postville, Iowa, to Charles W. and Louise W. (Ohloff) Meyer. She was baptized March 28, 1920, in St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed there on March 25, 1934. Esther graduated from Postville High School in 1938. Read More	Esther Louise Marie Meyer, 90, Postville, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa, following a brief illness. She was born on February 16, 1920, on the family farm in Henderson Prairie Township in Fayette County four miles south of Postville, Iowa, to Charles W. and Louise W. (Ohloff) Meyer. She was baptized March 28, 1920, in St. Paul Lutheran Church and confirmed there on March 25, 1934. Esther graduated from Postville High School in 1938. She was a bookkeeper at the Farmers Coop for 38 years; she retired in 1982. Esther and her sister, Marie, lived in the apartment above the Farm Store for many years, then moved to Decorah for a short time and lived briefly in Cedar Rapids. They became residents of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville in May of 2007. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the Ladies Aid Society. Esther was an excellent cook and enjoyed embroidery and sewing. She enjoyed traveling after her retirement and liked to attend the activities of her family, which included two nieces, Jean and Mary and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise, an infant sister and a sister, Ellen, who also died in infancy, a brother Willard C. Meyer, and his wife Marie A., a sister, Marie M., and a great niece, Laurie Binfet. She is survived by her two nieces, Jean (Wayne) Binfet, Sioux Falls, SD, and Mary (Peter) Hubbard, Iowa City, IA, great nieces and nephews, Marcia (Paul) Thomasson, Robert Hubbard (and his fiance April Andersen), Neil Hubbard, and Katherine Hubbard, and two great great nieces, Calyn and Josie Thomasson, and several cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 11:00 am at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Steve Brackett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.
