Description	:	Esther M. Foth, 88, teacher, died Thursday (Feb. 22, 2001) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Oct. 21, 1912, to Solomon P. and Mary (Goering) Krehbiel in Moundridge. They preceded her in death. She married Walter H. Foth July 26, 1940, in rural Moundridge. He preceded her in death May 23, 1981. She received her education at Pleasant Ridge School District, Moundridge High School and Bethel College. She was born Oct. 21, 1912, to Solomon P. and Mary (Goering) Krehbiel in Moundridge. They preceded her in death. She married Walter H. Foth July 26, 1940, in rural Moundridge. He preceded her in death May 23, 1981. She received her education at Pleasant Ridge School District, Moundridge High School and Bethel College. Upon her confession of faith, she was baptized and became a member of Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge where she remained active until her marriage and move to Oklahoma. She taught school for two years in the Paris K-8 country school. She and her husband lived in Cordell, Okla., until they moved to Newton in 1971. She taught private piano lessons and played the organ in church. She was a legal secretary in her husband's law firms. Together they traveled extensively and took many photographs and slides. She also completed numerous oil paintings and painted many pieces of china. She co-illustrated a Mennonite cookbook. She also wrote poetry, two of which were published. Her children and grandchildren have notebooks of her writings. Since 1990 she enjoyed living at Kidron Retirement Center and being involved in community and Bethel College activities. She enjoyed watching birds and sunsets. She enjoyed playing games such as Rook and delighted in making peppernuts and other culinary delights. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Robert Corbin of Ponca City, Okla., and Marilyn and Howard Schmidt of Newton; two grandchildren, Jason and wife Carey Corbin and Ryan Corbin, all of Houston; a nephew and wife, Homer and Betty Stucky of Newton; a niece and husband, Virginia and Jerry Florian of Wilson; and numerous cousins. She also was preceded in death by: an infant son, Leroy Foth; and a sister, Elma Goering. Memorial service was Sunday at Bethel College Mennonite Church with Pastors Heidi Regier Kreider and Norma Johnson officiating. Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory. There will be a private family graveside service. Memorials have been established with Kauffman Museum in care of the funeral home.
