Description	:	daughter of Christopher & Genevieve Girsch Esther Marie Brown passed away at Banner-Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Ariz., on Feb. 27, 2015. She was 82. Esther was born on a farm near Gilbertville on July 24, 1932, to Christopher and Genevieve Girsch. She graduated from La Porte City High School in 1950. Esther married Bill Brown in 1951 and had four children. Esther and Bill resided in La Porte City and have lived there throughout their 64 years of marriage. Esther was born on a farm near Gilbertville on July 24, 1932, to Christopher and Genevieve Girsch. She graduated from La Porte City High School in 1950. Esther married Bill Brown in 1951 and had four children. Esther and Bill resided in La Porte City and have lived there throughout their 64 years of marriage. Esther enjoyed her summer flower garden, sitting at her cabin on the Cedar River, and spending three months each winter with Bill in Mesa. She also took pleasure in her church circle, St Anne's, and her Bridge club. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters Angie Brown-Turner and Marybeth Brown-Lohbeck, and son Danny Brown. Esther had four grandchildren, Quisha, Tabetha, Christopher and Hannah, and two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Koda. Esther was also survived by her three sisters, Pat Milne, Joan Bookmeier and Luanne Haigh. Esther was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Brown. A memorial service was held on March 1 at the Sonoran Skies Chapel, Mesa. Her ashes will travel home with Bill when he returns to La Porte City in the spring.
