Description	:	Esther Matilda Hunt was born at Canton, Illinois, April 4, 1856 and passed away at the age of 70 years and 4 months. At thirteen years of age she moved with her parents to Iowa. She was married to Albert L. Henesey, August 27, 1879 and they came to Howard county in 1884, residing there until the time of his death, April 20, 1895. Later she... Read More	Esther Matilda Hunt was born at Canton, Illinois, April 4, 1856 and passed away at the age of 70 years and 4 months. At thirteen years of age she moved with her parents to Iowa. She was married to Albert L. Henesey, August 27, 1879 and they came to Howard county in 1884, residing there until the time of his death, April 20, 1895. Mrs. Henesey and the children stayed on the farm and managed things, working hard for several years, when she decided to cease such activities and sold the farm and moved to Dannebrog in 1908. Later she moved to Palmer. She was an ambitious woman and very active in social affairs in her younger life and was greatly missed by her friends when she moved out of this community. She was in the best of health until about April 1st when she was taken sick at her home in Palmer. She was then moved to her daughter Emma's home, where she suffered a slight stroke of paraylsis. As her condition did not seem to improve she was taken to the St. Francis hospital at Grand Island, remaining there two weeks. She then requested that she be brought back to Emma's where she remained until her departure. She leaves seven children, five of whom are living, Gilbert L. having passed away in infancy, and Clarence E. at the age of 19 years. Those remaining are: Ernest L. of Mound City, Kansas, Edna C. Baily of Wolbach, Blanche Jacobs of Tuthill, South Dakota, Harry S. of Julesburg, Colorado, and Emma E. Scofield, of Dannebrog, also twelve grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and many other relatives to mourn her death. The Palmer Journal, August 26, 1926, page 8, transcribed by Linda Berney
