Just tho't you might find this little tid-bit of interest. ~Contributed by Carolyn Rosemore ================ Funeral Rites Set Friday An illness of several months duration took the life of Mrs. Esther Bute, whose death occurred Tuesday evening, May 8, in St. John's Regional Medical Center in Huron, where she had been a patient for the past six weeks. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the United Methodist church, with the Rev. Richard Trotter officiating. Burial will be made in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Mrs. Bute had been a resident of Miller since 1925. Born at Florence, Minn., the daughter of Mrs. And Mrs. Michael Ofstad, February 10, 1903, she took a position as secretary to the late Harlan J. Bushfield when she first came to Miller. November 27, 1925 she was married to Melvin J. Bute at Olivia, Minn., and they established their home in Miller. Mrs. Bute served for a number of years as Hand County Clerk of courts, and for the past two years had been secretary to Rev. Trotter at the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and of the First United Methodist Church and Wesleyan Service Guild. Surviving her death are three daughters, Mrs. Gordon Ray (Helen) Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Clare Ravenscroft (Lois) Miller, and Mrs. Dean Henson (Florence), Bayard, Nebr., and one son, Robert J. Of Coulee Dam, Wash.; 18 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lida Folstad, Minneapolis, Mrs. W.E. Johnson, Milltown, Wis., and Mrs. Emily Darger, Sioux Falls. Her husband, parents, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. ~Contributed by Barb Jones
