Description	:	"The Hagerstown (IN) Exponent, Thursday, Jan. 5, 1905 Mrs. Esther Lontz, mother of Mrs. Dr. Keith, Mrs. Wm. Gephart, Miss Sallie Lontz and John Lontz, passes away at her home on South Washington street, on Monday morning, Dec. 26, at near two o'clock, after an illness of two weeks, of grip, at the age of ninety-seven years. Mrs. Lontz possessed an exceedingly cheerful disposition; she was always pleased to meet her friends, and was a pleasant conversationalist. Mrs. Lontz possessed an exceedingly cheerful disposition; she was always pleased to meet her friends, and was a pleasant conversationalist. She lived a life of usefulness, and was a christian in every sense of the word, and when the end came, she passed peacefully away. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Borthwick, assisted by Revs. Warbington and Lewis Teeter. A quartette composed of Mrs. Washington, Mrs. Chas. teeter, Messrs. Frank Addington and Frank Geisler, with Miss Mabel Teeter at the organ, sang 'Guide Me, Oh Thou Great Jehovah,' 'In The Sweet By and By,' and 'Rest, Weary Pilgrim,' The pallbearers were" Messrs. J. M. Hartley, John Bowman, Hugh Allen, John Geisler, Adam Geisler and Michael Conniff. the remains were placed by the side of her husband, Samuel Lontz, many years deceased, in the German Baptist cemetery, west of town." Daughter of John and Barbara (Byerly) Ritter.
