She was confirmed at the German Congregational Church at the age of fifteen years. She remained a faithful member of the church until 1924 when, with her parents, she united with the First Reformed Church, remaining a member until her death. Esther had been in failing health for several years and was bedfast the past five weeks. She leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schmer of Sutton, three brothers, Jess, Irvin (sic) and Gerald (sic), also of Sutton. Two sisters, Frieda and Edna and two brothers, Reuben and Harold, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Reformed Church in Sutton, Rev. Mr. Traeger officiating. Pallbearers were Floyd and Kenneth Schmer, Donald Sparks, Paul Schneider and George and Walter Isley. Burial was in the Sutton Cemetery. Contributor: M.
