She was born on September 12, 1891, in Pender to William and Martha (Hutchinson) Clayton. On March 30, 1915 She was married to Frederick Spires at Wisner. On October 23 1948, she was married to L. Leander in Pocatello, Idaho, and the couple made their home in Coulee City, Washington. After the death of Mr. Leander in 1973, she returned to Fullerton to make her home. She had resided in Fullerton Manor since August 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Gilson of Fullerton and Mrs. Jack (Maxine) Barr of Homer, Alaska; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rose Bolar of Omaha; an nieces and nephews, including Don Fitzgerald of Fullerton. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 Thursday morning by Rev. Audrey Scott, pastor of the United Methodist Church, in Palmer's Funeral Chapel. Visitations are from 3 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Pierce Chapel Cemetery south of Fullerton.
