Taylor, was born October 6, 1891, and died July 5, 1900, at 6 a. m. She was sick less than a week, and during these few days was a great sufferer from inflammation of the bowels, or peritonitis. Though so young in years she was a very bright, precautious child, loving and trustful. Her father's conversation with her the night before she died was very satisfactory and comforting to parental hearts. To avoid exciting her he cautiously asked: "Daughter do you think you are going to die?" She replied, "No, papa do you think so?" Still careful of his words he questioned her again, "Ethel, if you were going to die would you be afraid?" To which she quickly and confidently replied: "No, papa, would you be afraid?" He then assured her that he would not be afraid to die saying, "No, my child, can't you trust your Savior?" She said, 'Yes," and raised her hands in holy awe, while her expression of countenance indicated that she did trust Jesus as her present, precious Savior. She had never made a public profession of faith until now, so, extending her hands to each one in attestation of her having such trust, she confessed Christ before her loving and grief-stricken parents and sisters. Her Sunday school class and teacher were dear to her and she spoke of a longing desire to be in that class Sunday before she died. She was a prayerful child and always attended regularly to her secret devotions She was of such a loving disposition that her school mates and teachers were devoted to her. Her school mates and teachers were held in loving remembrance and always referred to with pleasure. Six of her mates were selected as pall bearers from among those with whom she has had sweet and childlike fellowship. These girls who bore her remains to their last resting place no doubt remember the gentle spirit and quick intellect joined with theirs in study and recitation, and innocent, mirthful sport. Ethel has gone to" a better clime. She has a home with Jesus. She is a schoolfellow with the angels now. Brother and Sister Taylor have lost three children, all dying in early life. They have three daughters left them, Mrs. Book, Mrs. Kuhne and Orpha. The ties that bind their hearts to heaven are getting stronger and more endearing. Some sweet day in "the city beyond" they will meet their precious children in the home where no separations come, and again they will be united by ties that shall never be broken.
