Funeral services were held Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Julesburg with Reverend Trenton D. Christensen officiating. Burial followed at the Kowanda Cemetery. Imogene was born on October 20, 1932 in Fairfield Community of Phillips County Colorado to Edward Glenn and Alta Annetta (Daugherty) Goddard. Imogene was born on October 20, 1932 in Fairfield Community of Phillips County Colorado to Edward Glenn and Alta Annetta (Daugherty) Goddard. She was baptized into the Christian Church on June 29, 1941 after the family moved to Julesburg, Colorado. Imogene graduated from Sedgwick County High School in 1950. August 15, 1953, Imogene and Ira M. Orth were united in marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Julesburg. Ike and Imy celebrated 60 years together. Imogene's working years were spent as a clerk at Spear's Drug, she was a telephone operator for Mountain Bell, dispatcher for Julesburg and Sedgwick County, and lab clerk for the Great Western Sugar Company. Most of all she was a wife and mom. Imogene was quite active with her family. Over the years she enjoyed reading and embroidery. Ike and Imy liked to square dance, collect coins and attend auctions together. Friday afternoon coffee with her mom was a standard activity. Imogene could always be found at her children's activities and sporting events. Her kids also loved seeing her "yellow" bowl come out as she was an excellent cook. Imogene was a good friend to those who needed her. Imogene is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Ira M. Orth; her 3 children and grandchildren, son Gerald Orth, Julesburg, Mikaela (Chris) O'Bryan, Melinda (Tim) Neves, and Mark Orth; son Ed (Kim) Orth Julesburg, Bailey (Marcus) Green, Jamie and Carly Orth; daughter Teresa (Mike) Sieck, Goodland, KS., Parker, Peyton, Powell and Peri Sieck. In addition suriving are her sisters Glenda Hovel, Pheonix, AZ, and Charlotte Buettenback, Grand Island, NE, as well as sisters-in-law Anne Goddard, Haxtun, CO, and Catherine Goddard, Sterling, CO. Imogene is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, her parents, Glenn and Alta, and brothers Gaylord Goddard and Merrill Goddard, and brothers-in-laws Loren Hovel and Cleo Buettenback. Memorials contributions can be made in Imogene's name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church 621 Maple St. Julesburg, CO 80737. Austin-Tennant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
