Description	:	The death of Mrs. Etta Keown Omstead, which occurred at Bethany on Wednesday, Sept. 30, brought sorrow to her many friends of North Harrison, although they realized it came as a friend, releasing her from a long, long siege of intense suffering. Read More	The death of Mrs. Etta Keown Omstead, which occurred at Bethany on Wednesday, Sept. 30, brought sorrow to her many friends of North Harrison, although they realized it came as a friend, releasing her from a long, long siege of intense suffering. She was the widow of the late Eugene Omstead and for many years they resided on a farm north of Eagleville, then moved to a home at this place where his death occurred several years ago. Etta retained the home alone until two years ago when, her health failing, she went to the Geyer home near Bethany where she was given every care. Final rites were held from Eagleville Methodist church on Friday at 2 p.m. under the direction of Haas Funeral home, with Elders James Thomas and Paul Campbell officiating. Hymns were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Myron Johnston with Mrs. 0. M Morrison at the piano. Following the service, the body was taken to Rose Hill cemetery, Lamoni, and laid by the husband of her youth and the father of her three children, Clarence Martin, who passed away In the year 1921. Their children were Bertha (Mrs. Ed Omstead), deceased; Frances (Mrs. Dave Martin), Leon, Iowa, and Harold of Bethany, who with six stepchildren, Mrs. Myrtle Bronson, Decatur, Iowa; Mrs. Pearl Sage, Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. Lola Hart, Smithville, Mo.; Ed Omstead, Ridgeway; John Omstead, Lamoni, and Ora Omstead, Des Moines, survive. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Ramshaw of Lamoni, Mrs. Lola Keown of Des Moines, and Mrs. Dolly Price of California. Etta was the [obituary] writer's friend during her residence in North Harrison and we loved her for her sterling qualities. Until health failed her she was ever busy in serving others, which she did gladly, and she has left to her loved ones many pleasant memories of her kindly deeds. She was 75 years of age and until the death of the companion, Clarence Martin, her life was lived near her birthplace near Lineville, Iowa. Those carrying the casket to her last resting place were Ray and Ralph Martin, 0. E. Pearson. George Craig, Leonard Trammell, and Jess Shackleford. (Written by Mrs. P.J.
