Description	:	OAKLAND - Eugene Alfred Folsom, 63, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his Church Street residence. He was born in Waterville on May 28, 1951, the son of Elwood and Evelyn (Abbott) Folsom. Eugene attended Oakland schools, and was captain of the high school football team while at Messalonskee High School. He was employed by Lipman Poultry, Halifax Poultry and for many years by Industrial Metals in Oakland. A lifetime resident of Oakland, Eugene was a member of the Decker-Simmons Post American Legion. He was born in Waterville on May 28, 1951, the son of Elwood and Evelyn (Abbott) Folsom. Eugene attended Oakland schools, and was captain of the high school football team while at Messalonskee High School. He was employed by Lipman Poultry, Halifax Poultry and for many years by Industrial Metals in Oakland. A lifetime resident of Oakland, Eugene was a member of the Decker-Simmons Post American Legion. At one point, he was holder of the Championship Title in Golden Glove Boxing. One of his favorite pastimes was racing cars at Unity Raceway. Besides his parents, Eugene was predeceased by a sister, Judith Folsom. Surviving are two daughters, Tina Lunn, of Waterville, and Terrie Randall, of Bangor, a brother, Elwood Folsom, of Waterville; two sisters, Diane Mushero and Elizabeth Fisher, both of Fairfield; five grandchildren, Timothy, Matthew and Michael Lunn, and Jenifer and Tyler Hunt; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Lunn; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at Lewis Cemetery, Cottle Road, in Oakland. Arrangements are by Wheeler Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Oakland. (Morning Sentinel 6/20/2014)
