Description	:	Eugene C. “Gene” Kannas, age 76, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at New Life Evangelical Free Church in Watertown. Pastor David Pickert will officiate. Music will be provided by Mary Modica as organist and Steve Huntington as soloist. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be: Greg Endres, Terry Endres, Travis Mack, Karl Moser, Nathan Reichling and Larry Griepp. Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Monday. Gene was born on April 9, 1936, at Watertown, to Clarence H. and Anna (Pieper) Kannas. He farmed with his father. Gene married Donna Popham and farmed in the Florence area until moving to Watertown in 1963. On November 28, 1987, Gene married Pam Griepp at Watertown. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Watertown and Gene worked for several farmers around the area. He attended New Life Evangelical Free Church. Gene enjoyed his coffee club, gardening and messing with dirt. Gene is survived by his wife, Pam, of Watertown; his seven children: Rodney Kannas of Clear Lake, Debby (Max) Siewert of Zumbro Falls, Minn., Judy Ziebart of Watertown, Brent Kannas of Fountain, Colo., Kent Kannas of Watertown, Sally (Scott) Jerabek of Belle Plaine, Minn., and Clay Kannas and his special friend, Holly Ellingson, of Watertown; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Dawn; one grandson, Chad Walford; and his parents. For more information go to www.crawfordfuneralchapel.com .
