"Rod" Kannas, age 64, of Clear Lake, SD passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019. Rod was born on July 21, 1955 in Watertown, SD to Eugene Kannas and Donna (Kannas) Cooper. He started his own construction company, Kannas Construction, in Watertown, SD. He took pride in the work that he put into working on projects and homes for people in the area. In 1993, Rod moved to Clear Lake, SD and began his lifelong project of restoring his 100 year old home. To focus more on the home restoration, in 2002 Rod joined Budahl Construction, where he worked for 17 years. Rod spent most of his free time taking care of his lawn, gardening, restoring his home, and his favorite hobby of wood working. In winter, he capitalized on his free time to use his wood working skills to build furniture to furnish his home. Rod is survived by his four children: Nikki of Watertown, SD, Christal of Clark, SD, Steven of Brookings, SD, and Robbi of Omaha, NE; one grandson, Justice of Clark, SD; one step-mother, Pam Kannas of Watertown, SD; six brothers and sisters: Debby (Max) Siewert of Zumbro Falls, MN, Judy Ziebart of Watertown, SD, Brent Kannas of Fountain, CO, Kent Kannas of Watertown, SD, Sally (Scott) Jerabek of Belle Plaine, MN, and Clay (Holly) Kannas of South Shore, SD; and 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene Kannas and Donna Cooper; one step-father, Eber Cooper; one infant sister, Dawn; and one nephew, Chad Walford. - Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel
