Description	:	A Mass of the Christian Burial for Eugene "Scoop" g. Meyers, 68, of Lake View were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 1996, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Fr. Leo Riesberg officiated. Mr. Meyers passed away at Marian Health Center in Sioux City on Wednesday, May 22. Music was by organist Sue Mein, the St. Joseph's choir and congregational singing. Military Graveside Services were by Eilert Auen American Legion Post No. 133 of Lake View. Eugene G. Meyers was born November 7, 1927, in Lake View, the son of George and Florence Staley Meyers. He was baptized in 1927 at St. Joseph's Church in Wall Lake and also confirmed there. He was graduated from Lake View High School in 1945. He served in the Navy during World War II and attended school in Chicago for one year after the service. He worked at I.P.S. in Storm Lake for a couple of years and was then employed by the City of Lake View in the electric department. He retired in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion in Lake View and was active in the Lake View Lions Club. His hobbies included fishing, photography and traveling. Survivors include his sister, Rosemary (Mrs. John) Mohr of Early; nephews and nieces: Tim Mohr of Early, Martin Mohr of Early, Jean (Mrs. Dennis) Hansen, and Paula (Mrs. Bryan) Wallerstedt; four grand nieces and two grand nephews; and numerous cousins.
