Meyers was born in Crawford County, IA, on May 9, 1902, the daughter of Otto and Amelia Hofer Staley. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church in Charter Oak. She attended grade school at St. Boniface and in Dunlap and was graduated from high school at Charter Oak. She attended normal school in Denison and then taught school for one year before marrying George A. Meyers at St. Boniface Church on November 11, 1924. The couple lived in Sac City approximately one year before moving to Lake View. Mrs. Meyers was a member of St. Joseph's Guild at Wall Lake. She was an organist, a choir director and a vocal soloist for many years at St. Joseph's. Survivors include her husband, George; a son, Eugene of Lake View; a daughter, Rosemary (Mrs. John) Mohr of Early; four grandchildren: Tim Mohr of Early, Jean (Mrs. Dennis) Hansen of Orange City, Martin Mohr of Early and Paula (Mrs. Bryan) Wallerstedt of Sac City; two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; a sister, Verna Remmes of Charter Oak; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by ten brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter, Ann F. Mohr.
