Post No. 1751 in Victoria, Kansas and was a avid follower of the political scene and shows. Survivors are: wife, Mary Miller, of the home; son, Eugene Miller and wife, Mary, Eastborough, Kansas; daughters, Dorothy Brooks and husband, Bruce and Karen Werkmeister and husband, John, both of Cambridge, Nebraska; sisters, Irene Bittel, Kansas City, Kansas; Louise Hammerschmidt, Victoria, Kansas; Mary Agnes Hayes and husband, Robert, Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren, Gary Brooks, Greg Brooks, Melissa Brooks and Stephanie Henderson; nine great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by: parents; first wife, Celesta Miller; brothers, Alphonse, Joe, Marcellus, Severin, Rudy, Edgar, Gilbert and Robert Miller and sisters, Ottilia Miller, Rita Bieker, Leona Smith and Cyrilla Dinkel. Burial was in St. Catherine Cemetery, Catherine, Kansas with military honors by the Victoria V.F.W. Post 1751.
