Eugene was born on January 6, 1946 in Livermore, California to Harold & Martha Morton. He was the 3rd child out of 7, his oldest and youngest brothers James & Harold went to be with our Lord first, his other siblings 2 sister Pearl Stilwell & Martha Navarro of Willows, California 2 brothers Lyle Morton of American, Calif and Lewis Morton of Clearlake California. He had a loving caring wife Peggy Morton which they were married 51 years ago. They had four children together, 2 sons Tom & John which were waiting for him at his new home with our Lord, 2 daughters Carol Kessler of Willows, California and Ella Cortes & her husband Adam of Hodgenville, Kentucky. Six Grandchildren Jessica & Katie of Willows Tonia Thies of Radcliff Kentucky, Sara Cortes of Hodgenville Kentucky, Robert Thies & Ruthie his wife of Colorado Springs Colorado & Carl Thies which is waiting with his uncles Tom & John. 1 great grandson Xander Thies of Colorado Springs Colorado and numerous nieces & nephews. Eugene was a caring, loving, & devoted man to his family, friends & community. He loved the town of Willows !He graduated from Willows High School & then attended Shasta Collage where he got his degree in mechanics, he used his skills to work for 3 different shell gas stations foe a total of 31 years ( Freeway Shell, Downtown Shell & Ed's Shell Service ) which he went through 5 different owners, He enjoyed every minute of his life serving the town of Willows & helping that in need, from time to time he would pay for someone's gas with his own credit card while he was at work. He would give you the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Then he worked at the Willows Motor Supply until he retired. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and chatting with friends (new & old) He did his best to live by the bible verse "My Command is this: love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12" There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at F.D. Sweet & Son Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10 am Willows Cemetery Memorial services after graveside at Jensen Park under the gazebo potluck following.
