Read More	Eugene "Gene" Henry Petree Jr., of Moran, KS, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, in Wichita, KS due to heart complications. He was born July 18, 1952, in Fresno, CA, to Ruby & Eugene Petree. Gene lived most of his youth in California with his mother, Ruby , & stepdad, William "Bill" Beck, until moving to Oklahoma in his late teen years to live with his father, Eugene Petree Sr. He settled down and married his first wife, Rosita (Croner) Kelley, in Topeka, KS, July 2, 1977. They later moved to Iola, Bronson, and then finally settled in Moran, KS where he spent the majority of his life working at Klein Tools until the plant closure and later death of his wife, Rosita, of 32 years (1 week shy of 33 years). Gene had been working for Thermoid Inc. in Chanute, KS since the closing of Klein Tools. After Rosita's death he then moved to Chanute, KS for a brief time where he met his wife, Debora Langley. They later moved back to Moran where he retired and lived his remaining years. Gene enjoyed gardening, home projects, collecting coins, and fishing. He was proceded in death by his first wife, Rosita Petree, his parents, and stepdad. He is survived by his wife, Debora Petree, of the home; stepchildren, Vicki Long, Iola, KS, Ronald Kelley, The Woodlands, TX, Steven Langley, Wichita, KS; sisters Mary Mills, Cheri Ewing, and Pam Lamky, all of Moline, Ks. Sherry Randlen, Fresno, CA and Tarina Gordon, Topeka, KS; brothers Bill Beck, Eufala, OK, Mike Petrie, and Pat Petrie, Chanute, KS. He also had three granddaughters, Angela Laughlin, Overland Park, KS, Jennifer Long, Osage City, KS, and Kayla Kelley, The Woodlands, TX; one step granddaughter, and four great grandchildren. Gene's ashes were buried at Cherry Mound Cemetery beside his wife, Rosita.
