He was born July 13, 1909 at Emmeram. He had lived in Topeka more than 55 years. He was a master machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad for 47 years until his retirement on July, 1, 1975. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus No. 534, Legion of Mary and International Association of Machinist, all of Topeka. He was married to Helena Leinacker on June 26, 1934 at Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Hutchinson of 2124 Harrison, and Mrs. Diane Turner of Stillwell; two brothers, Otto Denning of Chicago, and Edgar Denning of El Toro, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Helen Boujois of Chicago, and seven grandchildren. A son, Paul E. Denning, died June 22, 1955. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Assumption Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Denning will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Brennan Funeral Home. Rosaries will be said Sunday at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. by the Legion of Mary, at 7:30 p.m. by the parish and at 7:45 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus.
