Description	:	Butch was born on January 26, 1950, at the Carroll Hospital to Harold and Edna (Geyer) Obman. He was baptized on February 26, 1950 and confirmed on March 22, 1964 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake where he remained a lifetime member. He was raised on a farm in rural Breda, IA. Read More	Butch was born on January 26, 1950, at the Carroll Hospital to Harold and Edna (Geyer) Obman. He was baptized on February 26, 1950 and confirmed on March 22, 1964 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake where he remained a lifetime member. He was raised on a farm in rural Breda, IA. Butch went to school and graduated from Wall Lake Community School in 1968. He went to Sioux City to business school after graduating, but decided that he wanted to come home and follow his dream to farm. In 1989 Butch met the love of his life, Joan Nepple, and married her on July 27, 1990, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. This union was blessed with three children. Butch loved farming; he had a talent for working with figures and numbers that helped him in his pursuit of farming. He enjoyed being a bus driver and interacting with the kids. He retired from driving in 2017 and returned four months later to drive again, working up to the time his illness wouldn’t allow him anymore. He was always there for advice if he was asked. Butch was an avid sports fan. He loved playing cards, family gatherings, holidays and good food. He enjoyed attending his children’s activities and all they were involved in. He even took care of his kids when Joan worked the night shift. When his children went off to college, he continued to follow their events, and was always there for them if needed. Butch was always a big help to Joan at craft fairs, setting up and helping with the tear down. His favorite part was going around and visiting with people. He really had a knack for making people laugh. He was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Butch will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Butch leaves behind his wife, Joan; daughters: Danielle (special friend Collin Brus) and Jennifer; son: Joseph “Joe”; sisters: Charlotte (Jim) King of Carroll, Irene Corbin of Wall Lake, Darlene (Randy) Vonnahme of Wall Lake, and Gloria Obman of Wall Lake; ‘brother’ Bobby (Wanda) Freese of Lake View; and sister-in-law: Mary Obman of Auburn. Other survivors include his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pat Nepple of Sioux City, Rosie Obman of Carroll, Janis Nepple of Nebraska, Marvin (Jane) Nepple of Carroll, Ruth (Jerry) Wiskus of Lidderdale, Alvin (Karen) Nepple of Glidden, Dave (Joan) Nepple of Lohrville, Mary (Al) Daniel of Carroll, Mary (Gary) McCormick of Churdan, Madonna (Larry) Meyer of Lidderdale, Eugene (Deb) Nepple of Carroll, and Mark Irlbeck of Des Moines; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Edward and Ricky in infancy and James Obman; brothers-in-law: Robert Corbin, Chuck Nepple, Lloyd Nepple, and Don Obman; sisters-in-law: Anna Marie and Jean Marie Nepple in infancy, and Mary Lou Irlbeck; niece: Michelle Corbin; and nephews: Scott Vonnahme and Scott Corbin.
