Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6,1993 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with Vigil service 7 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Blanco officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Sterling Elks Lodge No. 1336 will also participate. Mr. Cucarola was born Dec. 19, 1922 in Padroni to Antonio and Annie (Pizza) Cucarola. He grew up in Padroni, graduating from Padroni High School in 1941. He entered maritime service in 1942, then the U.S. Army in 1944. He farmed in Padroni from 1949-1955. He and his brother Bob owned two truck stops from 1955- 1959. They started Cucarola Brothers Implement in 1959. In 1962, he bought out his brother and started Cucarola Implement, managing it until his death. He married Ione Slack in Las Vegas, Nev. on Nov. 29, 1971. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, an Elks Life Member, and member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Ione of Sterling, his mother, Annie Cucarola; daughter Bonnie and husband Ron Dones; sons, Don and wife Betty, Tony and wife Anita and Dick and wife Aimee, all of Sterling, step-son Terry Wickstrom of Denver and step-daughter Brenda and husband Gerald Schulz of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a brother, Joe and wife Lillian of Sterling; 11 grand children and five great-grandchil dren. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio, a brother Robert and a daughter Patty Becker. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Cards are available at the Tennant Funeral Home chapel.
